This Monday, 20 February, Vue Islington officially completed a full site refurbishment with new recliner seating and upgrades throughout the venue. Located within Islington’s Angel Central, the 10-screen cinema is Vue’s first in central London to be entirely decked out with leather recliner seating, enabling locals to enjoy the very best in big screen entertainment in added luxury, with each seat complimented with its own tray table and drinks holder.

Film fans and loyal customers in the area, alongside Vue Founder & CEO Tim Richards and Vue UK and Ireland General Manager, Toby Bradon, sampled the upgraded big screen experience at a celebratory launch event on Monday, to mark the unveiling of the venue’s new look. The gathering of big screen enthusiasts was treated to exclusive preview screenings of Wicked Little Letters and National Theatre Live’s Vanya.

Manuk Asatryan, General Manager at Vue Islington said: “Monday was a fantastic launch event showcasing Vue Islington as a go-to venue for entertainment in all its forms in central London, all from comfy recliner seating, and it was great to be able to share the moment with our most loyal customers.”

The newly refurbished site also boasts revamped foyer, retail, concourse and toilet areas, and incorporates new digital displays showcasing the very latest blockbusters and promotions. The retail areas now include the latest self-serve Coke Freestyle, Lavazza Coffee and Tango Ice Blast machines for fans to fill their recliner cup holders with.

The site launch arrives in time to showcase the latest blockbuster hits including Poor Things, The Iron Claw and Mean Girls as well as the highly anticipated Dune 2 arriving 1 March. Another treat from the National Theatre, The Motive and the Cue will be showing from the 21 March.
