If there’s one thing that the coronavirus health crisis has highlighted, it’s the importance of community. Islington has a number of council and grassroot initiatives to help those in our neighbourhood who need it most. There are lots of great local causes out there; we’ve listed a few below:
Become a We Are Islington volunteer
There are lots of ways to help, including volunteering with local community groups or charities. You can help with everything from shopping errands, pet care, medicine deliveries or giving a friendly phone call. If you or your business wants to help you can approach a local groups including People’s Army Islington or check out Voluntary Action Islington.
Donate to support people locally
The Islington Giving Crisis Fund is doing all they can to help Islington’s charity groups and organisations. Every penny you give to this fund will go to people who are isolated, anxious and in most need of financial support through this crisis.
Just one of their partners is Help On Your Doorstep, working tirelessly with isolated local people.
