A new ‘delivery-based’ supermarket at Angel Central!

The way we shop has changed. The impact of the ongoing pandemic has provided a clear indication of the change in consumer behaviour, where shoppers want to be able to buy their essential items and groceries from the comfort of their own home.
We are proposing to introduce a ‘delivery-based’ supermarket to be based at Angel Central and serviced by an electric vehicle delivery partner,  to allow grocery and green produce orders to be made online.

What is a ‘delivery-based’ supermarket?
A ‘delivery-supermarket’ contains groceries and fresh produce just as traditional supermarkets but would be exclusively for the delivery of orders made online.

Location of the supermarket?
We propose the ‘delivery-based’ grocery store is located within part of the vacant and underused basement space under H&M retail store at Angel Central.

Thank you for your contribution!

Thank you to everyone who took part in our survey. The consultation has closed.

If you wish to receive more information on our proposals, please do not hesitate to get in touch via the details below:

Making Islington Greener One Tree At A Time

On Wednesday 2nd March, the Angel Central team hosted a volunteering day at Hugh Myddleton Primary School to plant the remaining 52 trees from our Community Forest within the school’s nursery playground.

The Angel Central Community Forest was created from trees donated by Project Everyone, part of Somerset House’s Forest for Change initiative and part of wider tree planting and regeneration in the Islington area – the result of sponsorship by Angel Central and the partnership between the centre, Islington Clean Air Parents and Islington Council.

Every element of the Sustainable Forest has either been reused within Angel Central or donated to the local community. This included over 200 trees and plants, and even 4 tonnes of bark, which has created a new path at King Square Gardens.
