Wagamama benches are back

Wagamama is now open for dine-in. In the spirit of kaizen, we’ve embraced positive change and introduced a range of safety measures, including our ingenious new sliding screens that will keep guests socially distant without impacting guest dining experience. It might even enhance it.

This August there are even more reasons to treat yourself! Wagamama are taking part of the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme – so you can enjoy 50% off food and soft drinks*.

Available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. As many times as you like!

*Up to £10 per person. Alcoholic beverages not included. Offer valid until 31st August.

stay safe, the wagamamaway

Looking after our teams + guests is our top priority and we’ve introduced a few small changes to help us stay safe, the wagamamaway.

  1. new moveable screens, inspired by japanese partition designs (shoji). these stylish additions cleverly take advantage of our iconic wagamama benches, making them more accommodating than ever
  2. a safety host will greet you at the door to ensure socially distanced queuing, and manage flow in and out of our restaurants
  3. increased hygiene routines will be enhanced, with hand sanitiser stations for guests and a rigorous regime for staff
  4. disposable menuson placemats with cutlery and condiments being brought to table, only once you are ready to be seated, to help eliminate additional touch points
  5. cashless payments through a simple pay on phone mechanic at the end of the meal which minimises staff contact, and adheres to the government’s contact and trace request.the name and phone number of at least one person in the group visiting the restaurant is taken (this is stored temporarily for 3 weeks only)
  6. we’re not taking bookings just yet, to help our smaller teams deliver their best bowls safely. we plan to introduce this feature soon, but for now it’s first come, first served, safely of course! anyone that can’t be seated immediately will be asked to wait in a managed, socially distant queue.

The Islington Community

If there’s one thing that the coronavirus health crisis has highlighted, it’s the importance of community. Islington has a number of council and grassroot initiatives to help those in our neighbourhood who need it most. There are lots of great local causes out there; we’ve listed a few below:

Become a We Are Islington volunteer

There are lots of ways to help, including volunteering with local community groups or charities. You can help with everything from shopping errands, pet care, medicine deliveries or giving a friendly phone call. If you or your business wants to help you can approach a local groups including People’s Army Islington or check out Voluntary Action Islington.

Donate to support people locally

The  Islington Giving Crisis Fund is doing all they can to help Islington’s charity groups and organisations.  Every penny you give to this fund will go to people who are isolated, anxious and in most need of financial support through this crisis.

Just one of their partners is Help On Your Doorstep, working tirelessly with isolated local people.

Need help? Call the We Are Islington helpline

If you are struggling to cope at the moment, or concerned about a friend or  neighbour help is available.

Islington  Council, voluntary sector and mutual aid groups are working together to provide support.  This could include help with getting food or medicine, online group activities, legal advice or a friendly  phone  conversation.

You can contact  organisations  directly or call the We Are Islington helpline on 020 7527 8222 or minicom on 020 7527 1900. Lines are open every day from 9am to 5pm.
