Get ready to Light Up Angel! Join us for a spectacular, neon-themed Christmas at Angel Central in the heart of Islington.
This year, we’re celebrating in style at Angel Central, with a magical month of free celebrations, kickstarting with our annual Christmas Lights Switch On event on Friday 22nd November.
The Light Up Angel festivities will commence from 4pm in the Angel Central Piazza, with neon and light performers, installations, and free activities spreading festive magic to all in the build up to the much anticipated Christmas Switch On at 6:30pm.
Lighting the way throughout the Switch On event will be magical jugglers, dancers, and more. Visitors can sing along to Christmas classics, whilst also enjoying free neon face painting and hair braiding. Indulge in scrumptious festive treats including churros, hot dogs, and mulled wine, plus don’t miss out on free popcorn and candyfloss in the Piazza, while stock lasts.
Keep an eye out for the incredible Kings Head Theatre performers from their production of Cinderella, and live performances throughout the evening by Little Angel Theatre. Plus our special guest, The Snowman from Sadler’s Wells Theatre, is returning to Angel Central to officially switch on the lights. The Christmas Lights Switch On is just the beginning of the festivities. Angel Central have partnered with dozens of community groups to bring magic and wonder to the centre in the run up to the big day and beyond. The thrills and spills continue throughout Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th November, with more neon and light performers, free face painting and hair braiding (11am – 2pm). Our Sustainable Market will also be taking place throughout the Piazza, and more. 
And the fun doesn’t stop there. Join us throughout December for a range of exciting activities, including free kids workshops, markets, live entertainment, while you shop and dine at Angel Central. See the full event schedule below.
30th November & 1st December
Discover the Angel Central Sustainable Market and browse unique gifting options from a selection of London-based ethical and sustainable businesses, crafters and makers. You can also enjoy free neon-themed airbrush tattoos on Saturday 30th November and face painting on Sunday 1st December, both between 11am – 2pm.
7th & 8th December
Join us for free kids workshops, brought to you by Little Angel Theatre. Enjoy Little Angels Club on Saturday 7th December including, a free baby and toddler sensory session from 10am – 10:45am, and drop in kids craft sessions from 12pm – 3pm. The Sustainable Market will also be back, plus free neon hair braiding on Saturday 7th December and airbrush tattoos on Sunday 8th December, both between 11am – 2pm.
14th & 15th December
We have another weekend of neon-themed fun lined up for the #WeAreAngel community! Join us on Saturday 14th December for all your favourite Christmas classics, as well as Disney favourites, performed live in the Angel Central Piazza. Look out for our incredible street performers, including jugglers and dancers, plus free face painting from 11am – 2pm.
Little Angel Theatre will be returning to Angel Central across the weekend for festive themed free kids workshops, including baby and toddler sessions, and drop-in craft sessions. You can find out more about our Little Angels Club sessions and how to book here.
Explore our Sustainable Market on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th December, and discover London-based ethical and sustainable businesses, crafters and makers, all with their own sustainable spin. You can also enjoy free neon hair braiding from 11am – 2pm.
16th – 24th December
The Sustainable Market will be open every day from Monday 16th December until Christmas Eve, from 11am – 5pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to tick off your Christmas list, with unique gifts and treats from ethical and sustainable businesses, crafters and makers. Don’t miss out on free neon airbrush tattoos and face paintings on the Saturday 21st December from 11am – 2pm.
