Roll up, roll up! Join us this Christmas for Merry Circus at Angel Central. This year, we’re celebrating the festive season carnival-style, with a circus-themed month of free celebrations kicking off with the Angel Central Christmas Light Switch On.
The carousel of excitement begins at 4pm on Friday 17th November at Angel Central with puppets, live music and elves, before ultimate ringmaster Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman switches on the Christmas lights at 6.30pm. Throughout the afternoon there will be live performances of songs from ‘The Greatest Showman’, plus a selection of Christmas classics.
The thrills and spills continue on Saturday 18th November, with Islington Festival of Music & Arts‘ Christmas Classical Music Quartet performing at 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Plus, the magical offerings of local independent businesses will also be showcased at the MUJI Community Market from 11am to 6pm, a perfect opportunity to choose some unique gifts this Christmas.
Visitors can meet the amazing puppets from Little Angel Theatre (appearing over the whole weekend) and marvel at stilt-walking elves before enjoying free candy floss. Father Christmas will also be at the centre at intervals between 12noon and 2pm on Sunday 19th November.
Adam Cummins, Centre Manager, Angel Central said: “This year we want to offer our visitors and community lots of different free festive moments to enjoy together. From our light switch on, to Little Angel Club events and, of course, Father Christmas.
All of the entertainment is free and booking is only required for the Little Angel Club events. We expect it to be busy – especially for Father Christmas – so we recommend people get here in plenty of time.”
