A look back over the past few weeks at Angel Central

Children’s Yoga with Islington Yoga

On August 1st and 5th, children had the opportunity to discover the joy of movement through fun poses and dynamic sequences. These yoga sessions encouraged them to connect with their bodies, fostering confidence, creativity, and a calm focus. The event was held by Islington Yoga.

Intro to Basketball for Kids with Team GB Pro RJ Eytle-Rock

So far, three fantastic basketball sessions have taken place on August 2nd, 9th, and 16th. Led by Team GB professional RJ Eytle-Rock, these workshops helped children develop their basketball skills in a fun, engaging environment. Children improved their shooting, dribbling, and passing while also learning valuable teamwork and sportsmanship. RJ’s enthusiasm and expertise made these sessions a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Women’s Boxing with Sunni

Our first women’s boxing session on August 15th saw participants step into the ring for an empowering introduction to boxing. Under the guidance of coach Sunni, women of all skill levels learned the basics of boxing while building strength and confidence. The energy was high, and participants left feeling more powerful and ready to take on new challenges.

We’ll be looking through composers’ relationships with their roots, how they take inspiration from them, either by going straight to the source, or by nostalgically diving in to their distant but strong memories. Walking Concert  – From Ancient To Modern
Around the Angel on Friday 19th July at 6pm
Get to know the Angel through this musical walk! We will be walking together and stopping at some of its most iconic and unusual sites – the concert starts at the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration with some string duos, moves on to the White Conduit Projects and the Bakery Art Gallery, and finishes with a string quartet at the Piazza, Angel Central.

With Earth Day around the corner, Angel Central is proud to partner with University of Westmister to showcase an exhibition that reflects on the theme of Planet vs. Plastics, advocating for widespread awareness on the health risk of plastics.

Earth Day is an annual event on 22nd April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It has become an occasion to mark appreciation of the planet and warn of the unsustainable environmental degradation resulting from human activity.

Check out how we’re supporting Earth Day at Angel Central. Our latest installation is now live in the Piazza, and showcases some of the artworks by students at University of Westminster. Some of the artworks celebrate the Earth and the need to cherish it, while others focus directly upon the need to put the planet before plastics. Visit Angel Central now to see the winners on display.

CBRE Investment Management has announced KIKO Milano, the Italian cosmetics brand, is set to open a new store in Angel Central, the retail and leisure destination situated in the heart of Islington. This forms part of the brand’s rapid expansion plans across the UK and the continued strength of Angel Central in elevating its wider retail offer for visitors.

KIKO Milano will open an 818 sq ft unit at Angel Central later this month, adjacent to brands such as Rituals and MUJI, enhancing the beauty and skincare offer within the centre. It will stock the brand’s full product range, as well as offer in-store makeup services, delivering an experiential element for visitors. The store, which marks the brand’s fourth location in London, will be designed by Iosa Ghini and transcend the brand’s staple concept city format.

This announcement comes as Angel Central celebrates a Fitwel 2-star rating for the re-certification of the project this year, demonstrating CBRE Investment Management’s (CBRE IM’s) continued commitment to health and well-being across the physical, mental, and social aspects of the centre, its visitors, and its tenants.

Louisa Butters, Head of Retail Asset Management UK at CBRE Investment Management, commented: “KIKO Milano is a fantastic brand to add to our retail mix and responds to visitor appetite for more beauty and skincare which you can’t find anywhere else in the surrounding area. We are constantly looking at how we can elevate the centre to deliver even more for consumers, and extending our beauty offer is key to our overarching vision. We look forward to welcoming KIKO to the scheme
next month, with many other exciting openings on the horizon for this year.”
