Something new has arrived at Angel Central, bringing a fresh mix of food, music and culture to the heart of Islington. Founded by award-winning musician YolanDa Brown, with music manager and creative entrepreneur Adetokunbo “T” Oyelola, Soul Mama Islington is an immersive experience where bold dishes meet live music.

A new cultural destination in Islington

Angel Central is bursting with colour…or, rather, missing it!

Visit Angel Central this Easter and help Harriet Hops-a-Lot and Benny Bobtail solve the Case of the Missing Colours.

Armed with an artist’s palette trail sheet (currently empty and missing its colours), young explorers will set off around the centre to help fix the chaos caused when the Easter Bunny’s paint pots were accidentally knocked over. Along the way, they’ll discover colourful surprises throughout Angel Central, from oversized paintbrushes dipped in pastel perfection to bright vinyl paint splats decorating store windows.

At each stop on the trail, children can collect a colour stamp, gradually bringing their palette, and the world around them, back to life. Once their masterpiece is complete, they can head to the final stop to swap it for a special Easter treat.

The Angel Central Easter trail runs from Thursday 2nd – Monday 6th April, 11am – 4pm daily. The experience is free to take part in, with trails starting every 30 minutes throughout the day. Each trail lasts approximately 15–20 minutes, making it the perfect activity to enjoy as part of your visit.

How to take part 

Find us by Office and Accessorize to register for the trail and collect your trail sheet for free. From there, families can begin their colourful adventure around the centre, following the clues and collecting stamps along the way.

To guarantee your place, we recommend booking in advance via Eventbrite, as each session has limited capacity of 12 children per session. A small number of walk-in spaces will also be available on the day, subject to availability.

More Easter fun for little ones

Alongside the trail, Angel Central will also be hosting free Kids Club sessions as part of its regular Little Angels Club, perfect for younger visitors. Spaces are limited, so we recommend booking in advance.

Saturday 28th March & Saturday 4th April

• Littlest Angels: Sensory Storytelling (10am – 10:45am). A gentle, interactive storytelling session for little ones aged 6 months – 2 years, exploring the sights and sounds of spring. Book your spot via Eventbrite.
• Spring Has Sprung: Craft Activities (12pm – 3pm). Drop in for hands-on craft sessions led by Little Angel Theatre. Children aged 3–9 can create spring-inspired nature and animal puppets to take home. Book your spot via Eventbrite.

All sessions are free to attend, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Christmas Light Switch-On at Angel Central 2025 is the perfect way to kick off the festive season. Join us for a magical evening of lights, live entertainment and festive fun in the heart of Islington on 14th November.

 Christmas Light Switch‑On line-up:

• From 4 pm, the Piazza will come alive with luminous dancers and street performers and live music.
• Performances from Cinderella from the King’s Head Theatre and roaming performances from the Little Angel Theatre.
• Concluding with the big light switch on with Santa and Cinderella.

Calling all music and art lovers! Islington Festival of Music and Art is returning to Angel Central this July. Join us in the Piazza on 12th and 13th July as part of Islington’s annual music celebration!

Walking Concert – 12 July, 6 pm

Immerse yourself in music and local history on this guided musical stroll around Angel. Starting in the Piazza at Angel Central, the walk visits four unique venues – Holy Trinity, After Noah, finishing at St Mary’s – with live string performances at each stop. Tickets £20- £25

Swing Dancing – 13 July, 2pm & 2:30pm

Swing into summer with free swing dance classes hosted in the Piazza. Tickets are free, but you must book your place in advance.

Tea Time Jazz – 13 July, 6pm

On 13 July, gather for The Spirit of Swing, drawing influences from New Orleans, featuring vibrant performances influenced by New Orleans. Tickets £17 – £23. Kids attend free
