Best Bonfire Night Spots In North London

Bonfire Night, Fireworks Night, Guy Fawkes Night – whatever it is that you call it, it is an annual tradition where we celebrate the anniversary of when infamous criminal Guy Fawkes sparked a plan to blow up the Houses Of Parliament in 1605.

Guy Fawkes wanted to use gunpowder to cause an explosion which would destroy the Houses Of Parliament, however this plan was eventually foiled and it became a living memory of London history. These days, we celebrate this by letting of fireworks in commemoration of the event.

There are plenty of places in the area of North London that you can go to in order to get the best in firework entertainment, let’s break them down.

Alexandra Palace

The Ally Pally is the perfect place for a big fireworks display. Having the backdrop of the palace adds a certain sense of gravitas to each and every boom. Best of all, the Ally Pally Fireworks Festival also includes a wide variety of other activities for you to take part in alongside the fireworks.

While all of the loud noises and bright colours are exploding across the night sky, you and your family can also indulge in a Laser Display, maybe you want some light challenge with some Ice Skating or perhaps you want to delve into Hispanic culture with the Day Of The Dead festival.

Alternatively there are Street Food Vendors in the market to get a small snack and a light refreshment, bring your food along to the funfair that is set up and enjoy the ride. Finally, for the adults, there is a German Bier Festival going on where you can excite your taste buds with a variety of different kinds of German alcohol.

Guy Fawkes Festival and Fireworks at the Royal Gunpowder Mills

Are you are looking for an atmospheric place to relish in on Bonfire Night? Well you cannot do much better than this.

This fireworks display takes place in a gunpowder factory, which is of course very relevant to the story of Guy Fawkes and his link to using gunpowder in order to attempt to blow up the Houses Of Parliament. So in order to get into the mood you can watch a fantastic fireworks show in a place where fireworks originated from.

Whilst all of the excitement is happening, you can also participate in a variety of different activities such as “The Mad Lab” or “The Spinks Gallery”. Perhaps you would even like to unwind in their theatre; it’s safe to say that you will not be short of things to do at the Royal Gunpowder Mills.

Light Up The Night At Wembley Park

One of the biggest entertainment centres in the whole of London is Wembley Stadium, so it makes sense that the local Wembley Park would be hosting a big event come Bonfire Night.

The display at Wembley Park is being described as the “Ultimate” fireworks display, based on that alone, we are promised something rather special for our Bonfire Night entertainment.

The fireworks are not the only form of entertainment going on at Wembley Park however. You can also spend time with the kids in a variety of different family friendly activities and you can also enjoy some live entertainment from seasoned performers. The best part about this night is that is absolutely free, will you be rolling out for this one?

On top of that, you can also browse our food and drink stalls while street performers are on hand to provide consistent entertainment.

The kids will also not be left twiddling their thumbs as they can dive in to the Children’s Village for a cavalcade of fun with face painters there to allow them to explore their decorative side. There is also a play bus and sparkler zone to push their imagination further.
