COMMUNITY

Islington is one of London’s most exciting and interesting boroughs with numerous things to do and places to visit. As a key part of the local community, Angel Central is proud to work with local businesses, charities and attractions.

Below you can find the projects that we proudly support in 2016.

Sadler's Wells Theatre

We are proud to begin our partnership with Sadler’s Wells and to sponsor the new ‘Get into Dance’ project.

Lynne Glover, Centre Manager of Angel Central says: “We believe that everyone in our community should have access to the joy of live performance. We are delighted to sponsor ‘Get into Dance’ and help Sadler’s Wells fulfil its promise to engage with people who are unfamiliar with dance and who may not have visited the theatre before.’ Read more about Sadler’s Wells here.

Isledon Wolves FC

This is our first time when we partner with a football club and after a long selection process, we are happy to be sponsoring the Isleton Wolves and to support the team’s drive to help children from Islington become engaged in sport. Read more about Isledon Wolves FC here.

Hungerford School & Children’s Centre

‘The child is the centre of our community where each is unique; all are welcome; everyone can grow.” This is the school’s motto and we are pleased to be able to work closely with Hungerford School & Children’s Centre, support their projects, get them involved in new activities and encourage them to be creative and reach their potential.

Angel Canal Festival

We are working closely with our community here in Angel, Islington and we support the local events that happen here throughout the year.

This annual one-day festival takes place around the City Road Lock, Basin, towpath alongside the Regents Canal and local streets and a park, in Islington.

Islington Summer Strolls

Clerkenwell Walks have devised a wonderful Summer walks schedule for those that are interesting in finding out more about our Islington area.

Disability Action in Islington

We love enabling our community and supporting Disability Action in Islington (DAII) allows us to do just that.

As an organisation run by and for disabled people, DAII aims to support disabled people in Islington, so that they gain more choice and control over their lives, have better access to services and opportunities and are able to challenge exclusion and discrimination.

Past sponsorship: Little Angel Puppet Theatre in 2015

In 2015, we were the community partner of The Little Angel Theatre. Angel Central’s sponsorship supported Little Angel Theatre’s Puppets for All Scheme which every year offers free tickets and workshop places to over 700 disadvantaged young people in Islington.

Little Angel Theatre is ‘the Home of British Puppetry’ and one of only three building-based puppet theatres in England.
